- Farrier Mare should be sent recently attended to by the farrier with hind shoes removed. Mares and foals will have their feet trimmed as necessary and the owner will be charged accordingly.
- Worming Mares and foals will be wormed on arrival at Bere Meadows and then as per our worming programme. The owner will be charged accordingly.
- Vets Fees All expenses incurred for visits, examinations, scanning and medicines will be paid directly to the Veterinary surgeon at the end of each month. If mare is transported to Pembers Hill Stud for scanning a fee of £15 will be charged. Scan costs will be charged as per Pembers Hill Stud price list.
- Equine Flu and Tetanus Toxoid Certificate No mare will be allowed on the stud without a valid certificate.
- Swabs All mares must have a veterinary certificate stating mare has been swab tested and is free from infection (including Contageious Equine Metritis) and is fit for breeding (including gynecological examination). We also require blood tests for EVA.
- Disclaimer Mares and foals whilst at Bere Meadows will receive every possible care, attention and supervision but no responsibility can be taken for accident, loss or disease howsoever caused. Any veterinary assistance will be called in if necessary and will be chargeable to the mare owner. All mares are served at their owners risk and no responsibility can be accepted for injury, damage or loss caused through trying or serving any mare.
Should it become dangerous to the mare, stallion or staff to continue trying to cover any mare we reserve the right to discontinue any further attempts and you will be requested to collect her. Your stud fee will be refunded less handling fee and any other fees incurred to date.
- Visits, delivery and collection of mares are strictly by appointment.
